Star Wars Epsiode VII (The Phantom Menace)

It's pretty safe to assume that I am super jacked for The Force Awakens coming out this December. I always want to learn more with design so I continually challenge myself to do better. So for a little case study, in the coming months leading up to the movie's release, I will be making six posters for the movie. Each poster will be based on the iconic design style of Drew Struzan. This poster is based on his design that he did for Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. 

I really wanted to capture his technique to the best of my ability. From the color tone, to the paint texture, to the lens flares. In his posters for the prequel movies, he uses very warm colors. Lots of reds, oranges, and yellows. Since he actually hand makes these posters, and I do not, I added a paint texture to it. Lastly, the lens flares. All of the lens flares were made by me out of shapes, effects, blurring, and paint brushes. I am very happy with how this looks, but it isn't over yet!
